Fashion Editorial I recently shot for BELLO MAGAZINE.
"Thomas Wylde has marked its territory on the world of rock n’ roll chic in the past 10 years. Most recently counting Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Tori Kelly, Carrie Underwood and Heidi Klum as clients, clearly the minimal-meets-major vibe is working. With new Creative Director Jene Park at the helm, there’s no telling where this Wylde will go, other than up. Lush leather, heavy silks and layered furs are embroidered with subtly flashy yet demure crystals and charms, while bold marbled prints mix duchesse with chiffon walk that hard line of sexiness and edginess. Highlights of the Los Angeles-based collection are shot amongst the high-voltage power lines of its city, fitting for a label that’s bursting with energy and whose wearers inevitably become noticeably electric." -Stephane Marquet, Creative Director Bello Magazine

It was a blast creating these Cinemagraphs for ZIPCAR’s Summer Campaign and this project really pushed the boundaries of stills and motion for me.
This was truly an assignment that bridged the gap between motion and stills. I was recommended to the client by an internal art director who knew I did both stills and motion. The client wanted to do cinemagraphs. They called me and asked if I would be interested in their concept of getting out and experiencing the real world. A campaign geared toward getting people to go visit their screensavers and cultivate real offline connections with the help of Zipcar.
I hadn’t personally done cinemagraphs prior to that call but that afternoon I pulled out my 5dmk3 and shot a few tests, edited them in photoshop and sent them over to the client. With that confidence, I bid and got the assignment!
On set it was truly a meshing of mediums, I had my stills assistants, a DP and the editor there, and I directed and we shot and created the motion elements and still elements of each concept. It was a beautiful creative problem to solve and be thinking of on set and truly a meshing of all our expertise.
The client was impressed with how the project evolved and how the end product looked so true to what they were envisioning. We will be shooting again in the fall!
This was a fun super creative problem solving at its best, with how to light, capture and edit for the best results that matched my polish and aesthetic.
We shot on the Red Epic Dragon at 5K resolution (and I think at 100fps). We used Canon L series Photo lenses purposely because the plan was to shoot moving stills and we wanted to treat this like a stills shoot. To maintain as much sharpness as possible, we shot between 4.0 & 5.6 fstop.
It was an interesting night thats for sure riding around with Reality King Marklen Kennedy. We drove up and down the Las Vegas Strip, hung out in back alleys and places un-seen by the usual visitor to Las Vegas. It was interesting meeting this man, making portraits and hearing all the stories. This is the image selected and published in Junes Vegas Magazine.
I absolutely loved meeting and shooting the cast of the new movie DOPE in Venice Beach for this months issue of Essence Magazine. Tony, Shamiek and Kiersey were so much fun to create and collaborate with! Looking forward to seeing the film as well as working with these bright stars again soon!!!!!
